Position Description Position Summary:
Eastman Kodak Company seeksPrincipal Consultantsto develop and manage senior client relationships in order to create, sell, and deliver our Branded Consumer Goods business solutions.
Initial emphasis for this position is to lead the development of integrated solutions to address tangible business opportunities within Kodaks key markets. The individual will guide the process of evaluating solution ideas, validating them in the market, creating them, and commercializing them. This individual needs to be familiar with solution creation processes in general, and be willing to learn and adopt Kodaks specific processes so that they can be an expert that coaches others. As the solutions scale, this individual can expect to follow his/her solutions into the field as a Managing Consultant working directly on customer projects.
Within Kodak, the Principal Consultants are the role models for the rest of the consultants in the Solutions Business. They have deep domain knowledge about the industry they serve and about the requisite business processes Kodak will affect. They have a track record of success advising executives on business issues in a fee-based environment. They are leaders, and expected to demonstrate the behaviors, collaboration, and inclusiveness expected of leaders in a matrix organization. And as builders of a new business, they must have the self discipline to bring clarity in an ambiguous environment and move fluidly between billable and non-billable activities.
Responsibilities:
* Create and deliver a book of business for the Branded Goods Practice
* Manage the financial performance of a business segment
* Manage a portfolio of account opportunities from introduction to implementation
* Establish strong, executive-level client relationships and position oneself as a trusted advisor to the clients business
* Develop and drive the account strategy for service, software and product deals in the $800K to $3M range, leading a cross functional team of consultants, sales people, and technical resources.
* Manage the scoping, proposal development, and deal closing processes for the opportunities created
* Transition project leadership to the implementation resources; ensure implementation team is enabled to succeed
* Manage client executive relationship throughout the implementation phase: manage expectations, address implementation issues, enable implementation team to succeed
* Ensure revenue and profitability targets for each deal achieved.
* Assemble and report revenue and profitability performance for the segment
* Develop the operational plans to drive greater financial performance period-over-period.
* Lead the efforts to create, harden, and operationalize solutions
* Design and codify the solution deliverables to make repeatable: entry projects, proof projects, and implementation
* Develop the methodologies, templates, and analytic tools to enable junior consultants and implementation team members to execute
* Use learning from current and past client projects to improve deliverables and methodologies
* Identify and realize opportunities to continuously improve the efficiency with which solution is executed and implemented
* Build the delivery capacity
* Build the economic models to guide resource levels relative to demand
* Define the talent requirements to deliver the solution, both business consulting and technical implementation
* Lead the recruiting efforts
* Design and execute on-boarding programs: training, mentoring, validating
* Lead performance review and performance management processes
* Implement the necessary talent development programs to build the requisite skills and knowledge within the solution team
Minimum Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree Graduate with a Masters in Business Administration strongly desired.
* 8+ years experience managing $1M+ projects in strategy, operations management, and/or business process re-engineering
* 3+ years experience directly accountable to senior client executives for implementing major change programs
* Direct experience delivering step-function changes in operational performance within a client environment leveraging process reengineering and enabling technology
* Working knowledge of the brand management, package design, and marketing program deployment processes within consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, consumer durables and/or retail space
* Working knowledge of how service/software solutions are developed, commercialized, and managed within large businesses
* Experience writing proposals - statements of work, responses to Requests for Proposals, etc. and then leading the account team efforts to close deals
* Experience with major management consulting firm
* Experience working for CPG, retail, pharmaceutical or durables companies as a practitioner or consultant
* Experience creating new service-led businesses strongly desired
* Experience in business process/ workflow mapping and redesign strongly desired
